New LU Murano chandeliers at the Hotel and Spa Design 2010
LU Murano is present at the exhibition Hotel and Spa Design 2010, an event dedicated to the design and wellness of hospitality that takes place from 14 to 18 November 2010 in Naples during the Mostra d’Oltremare. In 2010, Fabio Fornasier’s dynamic creativity earned his studio the top design prize at the UK Lighting design awards 2010 and also gave rise to two new models to join the LU Murano Collection: cLUb and LUngo.
cLUb is a hanging model comprising modules enabling the fitting to be extended horizontally, conceived and produced explicitly for lighting bar areas in clubs, hotels, restaurants and private residences. The basic model has 60 elements.
The latest newcomer to the LU Murano Collection is LUngo. Like cLUb it has been conceived as a modular chandelier, though it builds up vertically instead of horizontally. The basic model is produced with three tiers, which are fairly small in diameter (80cm, 60 cm, 50cm), and with 36 etched blown-glass elements, 12 per tier. The LUngo model is the ideal solution for anyone seeking a light fitting that deviates from the traditional.
The chandeliers from the LU Murano collection are designed and made by hand by Master Glassmaker Fabio Fornasier in blown glass at his glassworks on the Venetian island of Murano, and come in various sizes and over 20 different colours. Each component element is made entirely by hand and cannot be reproduced identically.
